Dr. Heidi 雪's area of expertise is British literature, specifically the British Romantics. In conjunction with the 剧院 和 跳舞 Department, she has taught First Year Experience programs 和 co-led several abroads focused on Shakespeare. She has also co-led an abroad to the 英语 Lake District with the biology department focused on conservation 和 Environmental Literature. She has been active in establishing 和 enriching relationships between Principia 和 the British field.

Scholarly Interests

雪's scholarly research focuses on issues of poverty 和 religion, specifically as found in the writings of William Wordsworth, 和 on environmental literature in the Lake District. Her first sabbatical at the Wordsworth Trust in Grasmere, 英格兰, included an examination of the tastes 和 expectations of the Georgian readership with regard to religion, 性别, 与自然. Her most recent sabbatical explored attitudes towards mining in the Lake District from the renaissance through Wordsworth’s lifetime 和 also looked at Wordsworth’s conservatism during the national campaign regarding the Reform Bill of 1832.

Contributions to Field

• 雪's careful examination of the theological attitudes toward poverty during William Wordsworth's lifetime has contributed to discussions not only in the field of literature but also in the fields of religion 和 ethics as was shown by her inclusion in a discussion hosted by BBC Radio on William Wordsworth.
• Her book has been reviewed in such journals as Markets 和 Morality, The Journal of Ecclesiastical 历史, 和 Literature 和 Theology.
• 雪's work with the Wordsworth Trust has been instrumental in helping that institution exp和 its educational offerings to colleges 和 universities in the United States.
